Demé sail making is oldest French sail making still in activity !

In 1952 Constant DEME, after a training of sailing Master, creates sail making DEME in Croisic. Its activity is primarily centered on Fishing. Construction in 1962 of the building to the entry of Le Croisic, will make it possible the DEME Voiles to extend its activity to the sails of cruising.

In 1968, Constant DEME transmits the torch to his/her Gerard son. Sail making DEME knows a new orientation while being directed towards the market of thesails of centre-board, veils of cruising and regatta with titles of champion of the world.

During the following years the development is accentuated on the market of the livable boat, in cruising and regatta, with several material investments of which the automatic tool of cutting in 1991.

In January 1997, Laurence BIZEUL and Laurent NERDEUX, take again the bar of Sail making DEME. After several years of subcontracting near important French sail makings, installation of a marketing ,policy, (living rooms, publicity, regatta...). The objective, to make known excel it level of quality and the knowledge to make sail making DEME. Installation of a commercial team, a network of agents, professionals on the three basins, Handle, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Very quickly the results prove very positive with a progression regular each year and referencing on new markets(Shipyards, retailers, hirers out...).

In 2003, the success of sail making obliges to move towards new buildings, in Pouliguen. The new buildings and a beautiful floor of 2000 m² allow a better organization of work and an increase in the production. The recognition of the quality of the Demé sails is unanimous : for example, the shipyard Amel entrusts to us the construction of the whole of the veils of its boats.
